About Westport Rivers Vineyard & Winery

We are the first vineyard in Massachusetts to grow vinifera on a commercial scale. So, we had to guess what would thrive in this gentle, cool maritime microclimate. What did the soil, layered with quartz amid the glacial till, want to produce?

Edged against the sprawling yawn of the ocean, amid hills heaved and valleyed by both forks of our Westport River, we guessed bubbles and delicious, well-balanced whites with plenty of luscious fruit and the perfect touch of acidity. Our wines have been served in the White House, and loved by Julia Child, Oprah, and many more.

Many think you can’t produce world-class wines here. Taste for yourself. Taste the terroir of a place that’s barely an hour south of Boston, but a world away when it comes to wine.
