The Hon. Manuel Kyriakakis (ret.)

 The Hon. Manuel Kyriakakis (ret.) served as Chief Justice of the Housing Court from 2002 until his retirement on January 1, 2006.  He served as First Justice of the Southeastern Housing Court from 1990 to 2002.  While on the Housing Court bench he served on three committees of the Supreme Judicial Court, including the Judiciary/ Media Committee, the Judicial Evaluation Committee and the Fee Generating Appointments Committee.

Judge Kyriakakis graduated from Brown University in 1958 and received a law degree from Boston University School of Law in 1961.  He received an L.L.M. in taxation from Boston University School of Law in 1970.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1964 and was a captain in the Judge Advocate General’s department.

Prior to his 1990 appointment on the bench, Kyriakakis was a principal in the Fall River Law firm of Horvitz & Horvitz & Kyriakakis.
