2007 Housing Court Bar Sub-Committee

The Housing Court Bar Sub-Committee is the only statewide group offering an educational, practice development and networking forum for lawyers appearing in the Commonwealth’s five Housing Courts. Established in 2005 at the urging of the Court’s Chief Justice, the Committee has two co-chairs representing the tenant and legal services bar and the landlord bar. There is also a liaison from the Court’s professional staff appointed by the Chief Justice. The Committee will focus on supporting and advising the Housing Court and otherwise elevating the practice of law in that Trial Court Department. Initially, the Committee will include four subcommittees. First a group that will be responsible for recognition and portraits of housing court judges; second, a legislation subcommittee; third, a standards or best practices subcommittee and also an education subcommittee. The Committee is a subcommittee of the REBA Litigation Committee.
